Points to confirm before a consultation

We organize the preparation needed for your circumstances.

Open each topic to see what we first confirm. You may consult us even if your documents are not yet ready.

Consultation on work duties and visas

We organize your work duties, education, and employment conditions, and confirm the procedures needed.

What we first confirm
  • The duties stated in the job posting or job description, and the duties you will actually perform
  • Your university or vocational-school major and coursework, and work history
  • Your current status of residence and expiry date, and plans for starting or changing employment

Consultation on spouse and family

For spouses of Japanese nationals or permanent residents and family invitations, we confirm family relationships and the current residence situation.

What we first confirm
  • The nationalities, statuses of residence, and current places of residence of you and your family
  • The circumstances of marriage, cohabitation, and family relationships, and future living plans
  • The expiry date of status of residence, and the history of applications and procedures

The explanation below is for “Spouse or Child of Japanese National.” We also discuss spouses or children of permanent residents, dependent status, and persons residing overseas after hearing your current circumstances.

Consultation on a refusal or additional documents

We review the notice and past application materials, then organize points to supplement and the next steps.

What we first confirm
  • What is stated in the notice, the deadline for submitting additional documents, and the current expiry date of status of residence
  • Copies of previously submitted application forms, explanatory statements, and additional documents
  • Circumstances that changed after the previous application and documents that can now be prepared

We also accept consultations on applications entrusted to other offices. Whether and how to proceed with a new application or a change will be considered after reviewing the materials and individual circumstances.

Consultation on permanent residence

We review your residence and living situation and the documents to be submitted, then organize preparation for the application.

What we first confirm
  • Your current status and period of residence, and your history of residence and activities in Japan
  • Your work, income, dependents, and tax, pension, and health-insurance situation
  • Family circumstances, periods outside Japan, and circumstances requiring individual explanation

Procedures following the birth of a permanent resident’s child are confirmed separately from an ordinary permanent-residence application. Please let us know the timing of the birth and the current procedural status.

For the first consultation, please tell us an outline of your inquiry. Please send images of residence cards or passports and detailed personal information only after the office has instructed you on how to submit them.

What you request and what you receive

Research, review, drafting, or application. We explain the scope according to the work you need.

It is all right if you have not decided which service to request.

In the first email consultation, please tell us an outline of your inquiry and your wishes. We will explain in advance the documents to review, work, deliverables, and fee, and begin after your approval.

Individual research and detailed consultation

¥22,000 (tax included)

Purpose
Those who want to consider how to proceed with an application or how a system applies to their individual circumstances.

Deliverables
A response summarizing the review result, procedures that can be considered, and additional matters to confirm. The response method is agreed in advance.
Scope of engagement
Completion and submission of application documents or statements of reasons are separate work. If a formal application for the same matter is requested, the consultation fee already paid is credited to the application-service fee.

Drafting a statement of reasons or explanatory statement

Individual research and document review differ in purpose and scope even when both are ¥22,000. If both are needed, we organize overlapping work before providing an estimate. Fees for partial work are guides.

Q&A // FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Click any question to expand the answer.

Q1. My renewal was denied and changed to “Designated Activities (Preparation for Departure).” What should I do?+
We must urgently verify your expiration date, permitted activities, and re-application feasibility. It cannot be judged solely by “30 vs. 31 days.” Including accompanying you to the Immigration Bureau to hear the denial reasons, we organize your options and re-application strategy.
Q2. How did the 2025–2026 revisions change “Business Manager” and “Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services”?+
For Business Manager, business scale (capital, full-time staff) and Japanese proficiency requirements were raised, making transitional checks vital even for renewals. For work visas, objective proof of Japanese proficiency (JLPT N2, BJT, etc.) in customer-facing/interpretation/sales duties and relevance to major are examined more strictly.
Q3. I had late resident tax/social insurance payments or missed a 14-day notification. Is PR or renewal difficult?+
Recent reviews strictly check whether payments were made by the deadline and whether notifications were filed within 14 days. We organize the background and prepare explanatory statements and recurrence prevention measures to evaluate the proper filing timing.
Q4. What support can Japanese language schools request for Accredited Japanese Language Institution (認定日本語教育機関) preparation?+
Leveraging 20+ years of immigration practice, ~6 years of student visa experience, and our Registered Japanese Language Teacher auxiliary staff, we support accreditation application preparation, document organization, criteria verification, faculty/operational item organization, and student visa coordination.
Q5. We are hiring foreign staff for the first time. Can you support both visa procedures and post-hire onboarding?+
Yes. Beyond COE/change filings and submission agency, our representative’s 30+ years of corporate training experience allows us to advise on smooth onboarding, workplace communication, and retention.
Q6. Is email/LINE Q&A free? And is the ¥22,000 investigation fee credited if we formally request the application?+
General questions answerable by Email/LINE and fee estimates are free. When individual investigation (¥22,000 tax incl.) is conducted with prior consent, the full ¥22,000 is credited toward your application fee if you formally retain us for the same case.
